Uber What is the risk to deportation from Trump's immigration policy on rideshare and food deliveryIt's not always easy to be a long-term investor, particularly when contending with the natural cyclicality that the stock market presents if you buy and hold through bull as well as bear markets. Investing consistently during all types of market environments is key. So is maintaining your positions in quality companies unless and until your investment thesis regarding them no longer applies, or you feel that they have exhausted their value proposition for your portfolio. If you're looking for unstoppable growth stocks to buy and hold for at least three to five years, and you have $1,000 to add to your portfolio right now, here are two names you should consider. 1. DexCom Medical device company DexCom ( DXCM -2.19% ) specializes in the diabetes care space. Its continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices are used by diabetes patients around the world to track their blood sugar levels and manage potential adverse events. Shares of DexCom have plummeted in recent months, and are now down by about 40% year to date. Though the company is still in solid financial shape, its revenue growth has slowed over the last few quarters. This happened for a few reasons, most of which appear to be short term in nature. For example, an unexpected spike in the number of patients using rebates for its flagship G7 CGM has resulted in rebate eligibility over a schedule that was three times faster than the company experienced with its predecessor device, the G6 CGM. Other factors such as restructuring of its sales teams amid shifts in its product lineup, and lower-than-usual performance in its durable medical equipment (DME) channel have also impacted revenue. Management broadly expects these complications to subside in the coming quarters, and it's actively working to expand its DME partnerships with distributors. Some portion of the stock's decline is also a reflection of investors' expectations that the widening use of GLP-1 drugs in diabetes care may reduce the long-term utility of CGM devices. However, therapeutic options like GLP-1 drugs do not replace the need for a CGM, and these devices continue to provide a range of use cases for the diabetic population as well as pre-diabetic individuals. In the third quarter, DexCom's U.S. revenue declined by 2%, while international revenue rose 12%. Overall revenue was $994 million, up 2% year over year. Management has said that rebate eligibility likely peaked in Q3, so that impact to its top line should not be surprising. Bear in mind, DexCom is still very profitable. Net income for the quarter totaled $134.6 million, which was a healthy 12% increase from the year-ago period. DexCom finished the quarter with $2.5 billion in cash and cash equivalents on hand, and it brought in about $535 million in free cash flow over the trailing 12-month period. DexCom also just launched Stelo, a new biosensor for adults with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes who are not on insulin. It's the first over-the-counter glucose biosensor in the U.S. In sum, this is not the tale of a dying business, and investors who are in it for the long haul could find this a wise time to buy shares on the dip. 2. Revolve Group Revolve Group ( RVLV 0.57% ) , too, has had to contend with difficult investor sentiment. While shares of the e-commerce fashion company are actually up about 100% from the start of 2024 at the time of this writing, the stock is still down by about 170% from the all-time high it reached in November 2021. The recent consumer spending environment has been tough on many online retailers, and this has impacted Revolve's financial growth. However, the company, which targets everything from affordable to premier luxury, has stayed the course, relying on the power of its long-standing marketing partnerships with influencers, artificial intelligence solutions that underpin its platform, and a diverse range of brands to drive business growth. Sales are still growing steadily, and Revolve Group is also profitable. As of the end of the third quarter, its trailing 12-month active customer base had grown by 5% year-over-year to 2.6 million individuals. Net sales in Q3 came to $283 million, a solid 10% bump from one year ago. Broken down by segment, the Revolve segment generated sales of $243.4 million, up 12% from one year ago. The company's in-house premier luxury brand, FWRD, had revenue of $39.7 million -- down by less than 0.5% year over year. More impressive was Revolve Group's net income. Its bottom line was just shy of $11 million for the quarter. That was a 238% increase from the prior-year period, a time when it was also dealing with large one-time costs related to settling a legal matter. Revolve offers more than 100,000 apparel and footwear products through its e-commerce platform, as well as home products, beauty, and accessories. It sells thousands of brands including 25 owned brands along with many coveted third-party brands. In 2023, around 79% of Revolve Group's net sales across all brands were at full price. Last year, the company generated $1.1 billion in net sales from more than 2.5 million active customers, with an average order value of $297. As one of the largest fashion e-commerce brands in the U.S., Revolve Group has plenty of opportunities for growth in a fast-growing addressable market. Its underlying finances are strong, and its business is demonstrating resilience even as consumer spending patterns are shifting. Overall, there appears to be a compelling case for snagging at least a few shares of this top e-commerce stock.

Gautam Adani Lost $15 Bn In 2 Days; Adani Stocks Weekly Drop By 30%Aden Holloway established career highs of 26 points and eight 3-pointers to help No. 5 Alabama roll to a 105-82 nonconference victory over South Dakota State on Sunday at Tuscaloosa, Ala. Freshman Labaron Philon had the best game of his young career with 21 points and six assists for the Crimson Tide (11-2). Mark Sears had 20 points, including 6-for-14 3-point shooting. Grant Nelson added 17 points and eight rebounds and scored the game's first eight points. Alabama coach Nate Oats has sometimes been critical of his squad's defensive effort and the second half against the Jackrabbits will provide more fuel for that concern. Alabama did connect on a season-best 19 3-point shots but also attempted 55 long-range shots (34.5 percent). The Tide also saw South Dakota State put up 49 points in the second half to keep the score relatively competitive. Alabama claimed a fifth straight win with its third 100-plus point performance of the season. South Dakota State (9-6) was led by Washington State transfer Oscar Cluff, who had 21 points and 15 rebounds, including seven offensive boards. The Jackrabbits connected on 11-for-26 3-point shooting (42.3 percent), with guard Isaac Lindsey scoring 11 points, including 3-for-6 on 3-point tries. After Nelson's personal 8-0 run to open the game, South Dakota State pulled with 16-14 on a shot by William Whorton with 11:45 to play in the opening half. But Alabama then broke the game open, going on a 24-3 run culminating in a Holloway 3-pointer to give the Tide a 40-17 edge with 7:37 left in the opening half. South Dakota State trailed 57-33 at halftime, but played a much more competitive second half offensively by connecting on 17 of 33 shots (51.5 percent). Alabama will open 2025 with a home game against No. 12 Oklahoma on Saturday. South Dakota State will host Summit Conference opponent Denver on Thursday. --Field Level Media
Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has said that Bushra Bibi cannot appear in court because she will have to answer for the diamonds. PTI members are political vultures trying to play the Pashtun card. She said that those who are playing the religion card, the default card, the cypher card, and the Pashtun card, should forgive Pakistan. She made these remarks during a press conference at the DGPR. She further criticized PTI, calling it a party of turmoil that is always engaged in whining. “In yesterday’s by-elections, everyone saw their popularity plummeting. Even when they were in power, they couldn’t win by-elections. Last time, PML-N won the Sheikhupura seat by 12,500 votes, and this time, we won it by over 22,000 votes,” she added. She emphasized that every time PTI called for unrest in Punjab, the people of Punjab rejected them. “The public of Punjab is prioritizing PML-N’s mega projects,” she said. She highlighted the initiatives of the Punjab government, including the scholarships provided by the Chief Minister to students whose parents cannot afford the tuition fees. Azma Bokhari also mentioned that the federal government would save 1.5 billion rupees through the solar program. “The Chief Minister of Punjab will inaugurate the solar tube wells upon returning from China. The Chief Minister has not created any project just for files and slogans,” she added. On the other hand, she criticized the “Fitna group” that called for civil disobedience and encouraged overseas Pakistanis to stop sending money to Pakistan. She also remarked on Bushra Bibi, stating, “Bushra Bibi does not go out with the prohibited person and during the Long March, she didn’t even observe proper veiling.” Furthermore, she defended the Punjab government’s initiatives, saying that they did not give children sticks with nails, but instead, they were providing scholarships based on merit. She also mentioned that 130 billion rupees would be spent on these children’s education. The “Suthra Punjab” projects were progressing, and one lakh jobs had been created in Punjab’s tehsils. The Chief Minister had also given relief of thirty-six billion rupees to the people of Punjab. Seventy-three lakh consumers benefited from a reduction of 14 rupees per unit. Additionally, solar systems would be provided free of charge to those using up to 200 units of electricity, before the upcoming summer. Finally, she remarked that Faisal Vawda should contest the general elections, and he would learn the reality. She also criticized the opposition for falsely claiming that many of their people had died, yet no one had seen them perform funeral rites. “I ask, what political stability will be achieved by releasing Yasmin Rashid?” she concluded. Imran Khan will continue making demands, and we will listen and dismiss them.

While the PRTC bus services will be shut for four hours, from 10 AM to 2 PM, following the announcement by the PRTC Punbus Employee Union to support the ongoing farmer agitation, the private bus operators have announced their full support, thus declaring the suspension of services across the state from 7 AM to 4 PM on Monday. The bandh will involve disruptions to both road and rail traffic, with govt and non-govt institutions remaining closed from 7 am to 4 pm. District-level meetings will be organised on Friday to review the arrangements, reported ToI. However, emergency services will remain operational. Traders, transporters, employees unions, toll plaza workers, labour, ex-servicemen, Sarpanches and teachers' unions, social and other bodies, and some other sections have lent their support to the bandh. This bandh will force the Centre to accept the demands of farmers, the farmer leader said as he slammed the union government for failing to accept the demands of farmers. Farmers under the banner of SKM (Non-Political) and KMM have been camping at Shambhu and Khanauri border points between Punjab and Haryana since February 13 after their march to Delhi was stopped by security forces. Besides a legal guarantee on the MSP for crops, the farmers are demanding a debt waiver, pension for farmers and farm labourers, no hike in the electricity tariff, withdrawal of police cases and "justice" for the victims of the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Reinstatement of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013 and compensation to the families of the farmers who died during a previous agitation in 2020-21 are also part of their demands. Leeds United moved back to the top of the Championship with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Luton Town at Elland Road. Sam Byram gave the home side an early lead when he reacted quickest to volley into the far corner after seeing his initial shot blocked. Joel Piroe made it 2-0 from close range in first-half injury-time after Pascal Struijk’s header from a corner was parried by Thomas Kaminski. Dan James completed the scoring in the 81st minute by lobbing Kaminski, taking Daniel Farke’s side back above Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United in the table on goal difference. Burnley and Sunderland are both two points behind in third and fourth respectively, while Luton are 16th, but just three points off the bottom three. Blackburn climbed to within two points of opponents Middlesbrough in the playoff places with a 1-0 win at the Riverside Stadium. Todd Cantwell had a goal disallowed for offside in the 72nd minute but soon after set up Dominic Hyam, who also looked offside, to tap home the only goal of the game from close range. Queens Park Rangers moved off the bottom of the table after a 2-0 win at fellow strugglers Cardiff , their first victory in 13 league games. Zan Celar, who missed a penalty in the draw against Stoke last Saturday, scored his first goal for the club with a superb turn and finish shortly before half-time and sealed the win on the counter-attack in injury time. A thumping finish inside the first two minutes from Zan Vipotnik set Swansea on their way to a 2-1 win at Derby . Ronald doubled Swansea’s lead with a smart finish in the 14th minute and the visitors held on for the win after Nathaniel Mendez-Laing converted a 65th-minute penalty, awarded for Cyrus Christie fouling Tom Barkhuizen in the area. Portsmouth ’s home game with Millwall was postponed after Fratton Park was plunged into darkness for 40 minutes. Just 11 minutes before the scheduled 7.45pm kick-off, all the lights went out at the south coast ground as fans entertained themselves by using torches on their phones and chanting. The lights returned at 8.15pm and players returned to the pitch to warm up 25 minutes later, but the match was called off for “safety reasons” shortly after, with the announcement met by loud boos. A Portsmouth statement read: “Tonight’s match against Millwall has been postponed for safety reasons due [to] circumstances beyond the club’s control.” Sign up to Football Daily Kick off your evenings with the Guardian's take on the world of football after newsletter promotion Later, the Portsmouth chief executive, Andrew Cullen, said he was “disappointed and upset” after Pompey’s second postponement in five days. “I totally regret ... but it was the only logical decision we had at that time. There is more to it than the 22 players on the pitch and we didn’t have the confidence that we could get through the whole game with other lighting not working in the stands.” The Millwall manager, Neil Harris, said: “The football club here and the officials have been outstanding. We all wanted to get the game on but health and safety comes first. It has been a long day for us ... I feel for both sets of fans. Obviously they will get a refund or get the chance to come to the next game but that doesn’t cover their travel.”

The Last Supper Áine Fitzgerald Managing Editor At 1:25am on Sunday, the atmosphere on the second floor at Limerick Racecourse was thick with anticipation - and tiredness - as Niall Collins, FF, awaited the declaration that he had retained his seat. Towards the far end of the room, a scene was unfolding, naturally. ‘The Last Supper’ or, in this instance, ‘The Last Seat’. You couldn’t plan the composition of this masterpiece if you tried. You have Niall Collins positioned at the centre, akin to Jesus, surrounded by his supporters, who take on the roles of apostles. Collins sits slightly elevated, prominent amid the surrounding figures. Behind him, a person, crouched, forms what seems to be a crown-like halo around his head. On the far left (as opposed to centre-right), a bottle of water and a brown paper bag - remnants of someone else's last supper - create an ornate pillar effect. The expressions on the faces of those in the frame tell their own unique story - conveying the weariness and tension that had set in after all the long hours of waiting. Unlike the original Last Supper, however, two mobile phones are visible, their users quite possibly checking the time as they await the final result. Finally, at 2:09am, Niall Collins was elected to the final seat in Limerick County and the subjects in The Last Seat lifted him shoulder high. Finishing line Jerome O’Connell News editor THE next big event at Limerick Racecourse will be the four-day Christmas Racing Festival from December 26-29. No doubt the annual festive event will have just as much drama as the two-day General Election count at the Patrickswell venue. The countdown to the Christmas Racing Festival is well underway for Michael Lynch, CEO of Limerick Racecourse, and his team, and as part of preparations the post to mark the finishing line in front of the grandstand is in storage. With rumours of legal challenges in relation to the alphabetical error on the ballot paper, and of a potential recount due to the closeness of the Limerick City constituency candidates down the home stretch, all were hoping on Sunday that the lack of a post to mark the finishing line wasn’t an omen! An epic quest to have a City seat filled by midnight Faye Dorgan Reporter AS THE CLOCK edged towards midnight on Saturday, waiting for the final election count to get the first candidate over the line in the city felt a bit like reading Game of Thrones - battling tiredness while keeping a close eye on the rivalry between the chief protagonists. Limerick Racecourse turned into a political Westeros, with candidates vying for the Iron Seat - or at least a plush velvet one in the Dáil. One punter decided to pass the time by reading Game of Thrones as they waited, seeking solace in fictional feuds. “Winter is coming,” someone muttered, in a chilly count centre on the edge of Patrickswell. Counts came in slower than ravens, the suspense thicker than Tyrion’s wit, as crowds battled with tiredness that inevitably kicked in. Eventually, cheers erupted as the first seat was filled by Fianna Fáil TD Willie O’Dea, marking an election night triumph. Really cleaning up at the races Abigail Hayden Reporter AS THE hours ticked on in the county's mammoth of a count on Saturday, one group of clever entrepreueneurs made the waiting time worth it. Daithi and Cillian O'Donoghue, aged nine and 12, and Conor Kelly, 12, the great-nephews of newly re-elected Deputy Richard O'Donoghue, Independent Ireland, collected dozens of bottles and cans with the Re-Cycle logo. They collected recycling rubbish off count staff, supporters, and even Limerick Leader reporters. People were seen finishing off the dregs of their drinks as the three boys with the huge bin bag came around, to make sure their recycling waste added to the collection. After the re-election of their great-uncle, who praised them in his post-election interview, the three businessmen left the building with the rest of the family, along with two bulking bags of recycling. When asked about how much they had made, they coyly replied “over €20” - a greater profit than many leave the racecourse with! As these astute men know, the 15c deposit sure does add up! ‘I’ve never been so happy to be wrong about a prediction’ Nick Rabbitts Reporter LABOUR Party stalwart Joe Kemmy is something of an oracle when it comes to politics. Back in the summer, based on tallies alone, he correctly predicted John Moran would become Limerick’s first directly elected mayor, more than three days ahead of it actually happening. When Joe talks, people listen, especially where politics is concerned. So, on Saturday night, when he predicted that Labour’s Conor Sheehan was too far behind Social Democrats councillor Elisa O’Donovan to realistically catch her in the race for the fourth seat in Limerick City, I naturally put pen to paper. At the time, Cllr Sheehan was 391 votes behind Cllr O’Donovan. But he clawed back votes through Sunday, and secured the fourth seat on the last count. “I’ve never been happier about being wrong in a prediction in my whole life,” Joe beamed. Proof, if any were needed, that sometimes the greats get it wrong. Man in Black Donal O'Regan Reporter THERE were a number of senior gardai at the count centre - Superintendent Ollie Kennedy, Inspectors Gearoid Thompson, Fergal Hanrahan and Jimmy Ruddle to name but four - but there was also what appeared to be an FBI agent. He was straight out of the film Men in Black starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. Think black suit, white shirt, earpiece - all he was missing were the shades. He stood behind this reporter at a doorway on the second floor of Limerick Racecourse. I never felt safer. There was no chance of an irate supporter complaining that I had mixed up their candidate’s vote on the Leader’s blog. But, of course, he wasn’t there to mind this lowly hack - he was there to protect Minister Patrick O’Donovan. One photographer, unknowingly, asked him if he could take his photo - thinking he was just a random supporter in the crowd. Understandably, the response was a polite “no” from the man in black who gave a wry smile to himself after the photographer moved along. The only chance of Mr O’Donovan being hurt was a sprained wrist from receiving congratulatory handshakes or hitting his head on the ceiling when he was lifted high in the air but this chap wasn’t taking any chances. He watched everything. He went home happy as Mr O’Donovan is still in a job. As did a supporter of the Fine Gael man who was moving a lot better than the last time I saw her. The lady in question was on crutches at the mayoral and council count in June after breaking her ankle. She came a cropper while rounding up ducks. However, she was flying it on Saturday, much like Mr O’Donovan. ‘Lotto luck’ for reporter Nick Rabbitts Reporter I HAVE been playing the lottery since I came to Ireland in 2008, and have very rarely ever won anything. Despite this, I carry on spending €6 twice a week on a ticket, ignoring criticism that it is a tax on hope, and there is more chance of my beloved Tottenham Hotspur Football Club winning a title than me landing the jackpot. (Soccer fans, if you know, you know!) But, on Saturday night, peering at a colleague’s laptop which was tuned into RTE One, I caught the lottery results. And my numbers came up! Well four of them did - three regular numbers and the bonus ball - landing me a very welcome €29. It gave me a nice lift in the middle of a very busy election count, and felt like proof - if ever any is needed - that consistency can pay off! For the record, my numbers are 4, 7, 14, 24, 39 and 45!Are you tracking your health with a device?
