GTA 6, Nintendo's new console and what else to watch out for in 2025 gamingSpecial counsel Jack Smith faced further accusations of political lawfare online after he filed to dismiss the cases against President-elect Donald Trump on Monday. Less than three weeks after Trump bested Vice President Kamala Harris, Smith filed a motion to end the cases centered on Trump's actions leading up to and on Jan. 6, 2021, and Trump's handling of classified documents. Politicians and lawyers alike responded to the filing Monday on X. "This lawfare was always unprecedented," Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) wrote. "This lawfare was always wrong. This lawfare was always politically-motivated. And this lawfare MUST NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN." "All that has changed is that Trump won the election And now Jack Smith is moving to dismiss," Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) wrote. "Isn’t that tantamount to an admission that this was just politicized lawfare from the beginning?" "The Jack Smith cases will be remembered as a dark chapter of weaponization," Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) wrote. "They never should have been brought. Our elections are decided by voters--not by fanatical, deranged liberal lawyers like Jack Smith." "[Retweet] if you think it's time to fire Jack Smith," Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) wrote. "Jack Smith-your losing joke of an indictment didn’t have a chance in hell to begin with as SCOTUS made clear," former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner wrote. "Your motion to dismiss is long over due. I hope you’re investigated until the end of time when AG @PamBondi takes over. Thankful to the voter mandating lawfare end!" "It was all a political witch hunt to interfere with our elections!!" Libs of TikTok wrote of the dismissal. "Jack Smith failed miserably, but did grave damage to our justice system and sought to sabotage our election system," Fox Business host Mark Levin wrote. "He should have to answer for it. Alvin Bragg hangs on as we sit around and await conflicted rogue judge, Juan Merchan, to get off his a** and dismiss the outrageous case in New York." "Will Jack Smith reimburse taxpayers for the millions wasted on this bogus witch hunt he just dropped?" Trump lawyer Alina Habba wrote. "Asking for America." "This is a MASSIVE WIN for the rule of law," Trump's campaign wrote. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER Smith attempted to speed up his cases against Trump and go to trial before this month’s election. These cases, even though the alleged crimes occurred before Trump announced his 2024 campaign, were not brought until afterward. Rajnath meets Putin, affirms India will stand by RussiaSergel is heading towards generating Tk 1,000 crore in annual sales as over Tk 900 crore worth of the gastrological medicine was sold in the first nine months of this year, according to information technology company IMS Health. This is one of the largest selling products in the country. Md Halimuzzaman, CEO of Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd, said he was proud of this single brand of the company reaching such high sales, although it had not reached Tk 1,000 crore yet. Since the customer base is high, the sales growth now appears low compared to previous years but there is potential for further growth, he said. The second and third-highest selling medicine brands are also from the same gastrological generic. Sales of Maxpro and Pantonix have reached Tk 486 crore and Tk 376 crore respectively. In the pharmaceuticals market, the market share of gastrologic products is the highest and Sergel has earned the highest market share over the years for its acceptance among doctors and patients, said Halimuzzaman. Among the 10 top-selling drug brands, five are gastrological medicines. Sergel holds a 2.67 percent market share, with sales worth Tk 918 crore in the nine-month period. Maxpro holds a 1.41 percent market share and the market share of Pantonix is 1.10 percent, the data showed. Apart from Sergel, some other brands have become popular over the years, said Halimuzzaman. The fourth-highest selling drug in the nine months period was Napa, with sales reaching Tk 338 crore. Sales of Cef-3, Monas, Exium, Seclo and Bizoran are also above Tk 200 crore. Almost all the drug companies have their own brands of these drugs, which bear the same molecular formula, but some gained popularity on gaining people's confidence. And this confidence passes from person to person, he said. There are 31 generic drugs that sell for over Tk 100 crore. The data showed that sales of 79 generic medicine were above Tk 50 crore. The data indicates that although the sales of individual brands of products of some companies may not be high, but the brand value of the companies themselves ensures high sales of all their medicines. Jubayer Alam, company secretary of Renata PLC, said most people over 18 years of age take gastrological medicine as there is no discipline when it comes to food intake and habits. Due to this, many people suffer from ailments affecting the digestive system, he said. Demand is growing for rosuvastatin drugs, which lowers cholesterol, as many people are dying of heart attacks, he added. Even in developed countries, demand for such medicine is growing, so it also may see a good growth in the country, he added. "We are really happy that we can serve a huge number of patients to overcome ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease and hyperacidity related problems with Maxpro," Alam said. "All Maxpro formulations are manufactured in USFDA, UKMHRA and Anvisa approved facilities so that patients get the best esomeprazole of the country," he added. The financial services sector of Bangladesh is yet to reach its full potential despite the significant advancements seen so far, according to Ahsan H Mansur, governor of the Bangladesh Bank. "There is no single entity behind this failure. Maybe we could have worked with more dedication. Maybe there was a deviation. But nonetheless, we should self-analyse our failures," he said. Mansur was speaking as chief guest at the golden jubilee of the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) in the Mirpur area of Dhaka yesterday. The event, presided over by BIBM Director General Md Akhtaruzzaman, opened with a discussion on the challenges and potential for financial services in the country. The inaugural session was moderated by Shah Md Ahsan Habib, a professor at the BIBM. Mansur said no institution can stand alone and must cooperate with others in order to succeed, with the same being applicable for financial service providers. He also said the financial services sector is by no means small, as subsets like the banking industry are a major part of it. Against this backdrop, he warned that the financial services sector may eventually be brought to the brink of destruction if the interests of depositors and investors are not properly protected. Regarding opportunities in the banking industry, he said it could increase contributions towards addressing both new and existing challenges through initiatives to finance sustainable and environmental projects. Mansur informed that while all the banks have predetermined goals in terms of investing in various sectors, most bank officials do not know how the money will actually be spent. "Therefore, the BIBM can work to increase the understanding of bank officials on these issues," he said, adding that innovative ideas like green bonds should also be brought forward. The Bangladesh Bank governor further said small and medium enterprises as well as emerging and unconventional industries, such as those focusing green and climate finance, are not well suited for availing financing from banks. "Funds are being given to numerous sectors, but they are not being transferred. The people in charge of banks and other financial institutions are either not very excited about these industries or are not willing to take chances," he said. "Here, we must adopt a new perspective," Mansur added, conveying his hope that the country's financial institutions will play a stronger role in funding the non-conventional and new sectors. Mansur, also chairman of the BIBM governing board, urged for addressing new challenges in the banking sector, such as that involving climate financing, green financing, developments in financial services and technological innovations. Noting that such institutions are much needed for developing the banking industry, he said the BIBM has been able to play an important role in building human resources for this segment. Furthermore, Mansur asked the BIBM to focus on attracting foreign students and spreading its name in the international arena. Masrur Arefin, vice chairman of the Association of Bankers Bangladesh, said the banking industry must move forward with the times. "We need to increase our understanding on various topics, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and blockchain," he added. Arefin, also the managing director of City Bank, further said the country's digital banking services have reached a certain threshold, as every bank now provides digital support to their customers. He expressed hope that Bangladesh Bank will look into the extent of digital lending services provided by banks. JLR will compete at the 2026 Dakar Rally as part of a wider multi-year partnership with the event. The British company will compete with its Defender brand – now a brand in its own right following a restructuring announced in June that saw the former-Jaguar Land Rover business become simply JLR, and former-Land Rover products Defender, Discovery, and Range Rover become separate brands in their own right, alongside Jaguar. Aside from that, little is known about the project so far, with further details set to be announced during the 2025 Dakar Rally in January. “Adventure is in the very DNA of the Defender brand, so we are inspired to partner with Dakar – the ultimate motorsport adventure – where competitors truly embrace the impossible,” said Defender managing director Mark Cameron. “Our partnership begins in 2025 when Defender will showcase its capability and durability as the official car of the event, but we are already looking to the future and entering a Defender Dakar works team from 2026. “That Defender Dakar works program will be led by James Barclay, JLR Motorsport managing director, and I know James and his team are inspired by the challenge that lays ahead.” The program will be the second factory-backed motorsport effort from JLR, with its Jaguar brand currently competing in Formula E. It secured both the teams’ and manufacturers’ titles last season, but narrowly missed out on a hat-trick after Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein beat Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy to the drivers’ crown at the final round in London in July. “Anyone who loves motorsport will have a passion for Dakar,” said Barclay. “It’s the Everest of motorsport and an event where success is dependent as much on human determination in the toughest of conditions as it is the ultimate test for vehicle and engineering capability. Bringing the world’s most capable and iconic 4×4 to the world’s most iconic rally-raid is a perfect fit. “Our first time ever with a factory entry into the Dakar means we are right at the beginning of our journey. We are conscious of how much we have to learn and achieve before taking the start in 2026, but we are already well under way and looking forward to the adventure. We will share more details of this exciting program at the Dakar rally in 2025.” JLR’s involvement with Dakar extends beyond competing in the contest, with Defender also supplying cars to be used by officials and VIP media from next year’s event, while a fleet of specially-prepared Defender recce vehicles will also be provided to officials to be used for support and to test out future rally routes. “We are thrilled to welcome Defender as the new official car partner of the Dakar,” said Dakar rally director David Castera. “It is an iconic brand, present on all continents, that shares our passion for adventure, performance, and innovation. “We are also excited that Defender will accompany us throughout the year, providing vehicles for the organizing teams and for the route reconnaissance. Their reliability and robustness will help us improve our daily efficiency.” Defender’s addition to the Dakar rally roster follows the addition factory efforts from Ford and Romanian brand Dacia, which will compete from next year with programs led by M-Sport and Prodrive respectively. The 2025 Dakar rally begins on January 3 and will be the 47th running of the event, and fifth to take place in Saudi Arabia. The rally raid crown jewel moved from Dakar in Senegal after the 2007 edition, following political unrest in Mauritania. In 2008 the seven-stage Central European Rally counted as the Dakar, before the event was properly rebooted in Argentina and Chile a year later. It remained in South America until 2019, before setting in the Middle East in 2020, where it has remained since.UCD grad does it again, for real

John Calipari's Razorbacks (5-1) led 60-15 at the break, tying Arkansas' 45-point advantage at halftime in a 2009 win over Alcorn State.
